2. What are the benefits of buying a spa?
Our customers have many reasons for buying a spa, with relaxation and wellness being top of the list. There are many benefits to owning a spa, here are some of them:
Wellness
- The therapeutic effects of a spa have tremendous health benefits, for example soothing tired, aching muscles at the end of a long day or after a session at the gym.
- Jets can be positioned to provide maximum massage relief to particular problem areas, for example to help bad backs.
- The scents released by the spa provide great aromatherapy, known to help with stress-relief.
Lifestyle
- Spa time gives you the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your partner.
- Sitting in your spa is the perfect retreat to take you away from the stresses and strains of daily life.
Fun
- Spas have great entertainment value, both for your kids and when you’ve got friends round.
- Unlike a pool, a spa can be used anytime of the day, 365 days a year!
Asset value
- A spa really helps to put the finishing touches to your house and will be appealing to house buyers if you decide to move on.

3. Why should I buy a spa from Splashdown Pools and Spas?
- We have been in business for over 30 years and believe we know what it takes to provide our customers with the products they want, in the way they want them.
- We understand buying a spa is a big investment. We spend time with you to learn about what you want from your spa so we come up with the best solution together, to suit your budget.
- Our prices are extremely competitive and we provide you with a complete package to make sure you have everything you need from the start.
- We stock a wide range of chemicals and spa accessories, (including spare parts) meaning you can get everything you need from one easy location.
- We provide many after-care services such as free water testing to ensure you continue to get the most out of your spa.

4. How easy are they to install?
- Spas can either run off a 15amp plug or can be hardwired. We recommend that larger spas are hardwired.
- You will need a flat, solid surface for your spa, preferably concrete but pavers or strong decking are usually sufficient.
- All installations are carried out by Splashdown Pools and Spas. If you are unsure of the space you have designated for your spa we will happily check this over before delivery to ensure there are no problems.

5. What are the running costs of a spa?
One of the key benefits of buying a Jacuzzi hot tub spa is its running costs. Certified tests have proved that daily running costs start from as little as 57c per day. Key reasons for this include:
- Easy to program filtration and heating cycles
- Energy efficient pumps
- Programmable circulation pump
- Full-foam insulation
- Energy-saving immersion heating

6. How easy are they to maintain?
- Depending on how frequently you use your spa we recommend that you change your spa water every three months. It’s also a good idea to replace 10% of your spa water with fresh water every two weeks.
- The innovative filter technology in a Jacuzzi hot tub spa means that filters need to be cleaned less frequently, unlike filters in most other spas which need to be cleaned every two weeks.
- Cartridges can be cleaned in hot water for 35-40 minutes and it’s also a good idea to buy a spare set of cartridges so you can alternate their use.
- Even though all of our spas use the Ozone purification system, like any spa you will need to use a chemical treatment regularly. We recommend Poppit, which is a healthy alternative for a sparkling, clear, chlorine-free spa.
- It is also a good idea to test your water once a week. If you’re unsure feel free to use our free water testing service.
- We cover all of these maintenance tips in our after-sales service, believing that once you buy a spa from Splashdown Pools and Spas, that this is the beginning of our relationship, not the end.

7. What is Ozone purification?
All of our spas include complementary Ozone purification systems. Basically air is passed through an ozone generator to form ozone, which is a non-chemical oxide. It’s totally safe, gives you cleaner and clearer water and reduces the amount of chemicals you need to keep your spa sanitised.

8. Can anyone own a spa?
It is recommended that you inform SA Water and your local Council if you are planning to install a spa.

9. What warrantees will my spa have?
All of the parts in your spa are covered by various different warrantees. We will take you through this as part of our comprehensive after-sales service.
